Description
“Since 1990, I’ve been fortunate enough to observe Cheetahs many times on various trips to East Africa. On one memorable occasion in the Serengeti I was surrounded by a group of immature Cheetahs for over a half an hour as they interacted and played together.
Grace is a young Cheetah and she has longer fur around the head and neck, which I liked for this particular drawing. I wanted the portrait to convey through their amber eyes, the Cheetahs’ gentle nature, but also their incredible alertness: the fire inside. The teardrop pattern is such a beautiful and distinctive feature so this was another must for me to highlight."
