Our very own music teacher, Miss Hancockis generously offering to sing at next event or party. What better way to "class-up" your upcoming wedding, birthday party, charity functions or sing-a-longs than with Miss Hancock! She will sing or play oboe for your private event or party in your home or another location 10 miles of Saint Rita. Styles of music include jazz, pop, blues, and rock (voice), and classical (voice or oboe).
Miss Hancock will meet with you before your event and help you select the repertoire that is appropriate for your gathering. This service will be offered for up to two hours , with reasonable built-in breaks. Depending on repertoire requested, a separate accompanist may be needed for an extra fee, inquire with Miss Hancock for referrals.

Sara L. Hancock started singing in her church children’s choir at age 4, began piano lessons at 6, picked up the oboe at 11, and never looked back. Miss Hancock holds a Master’s degree in Choral and Orchestral Conducting and a Bachelor’s in Oboe Performance from UC Santa Cruz, where she graduated with honors from both Kresge College and the Department of Music. She has studied oboe with Patricia Mitchell (Opera San Jose, Silicon Valley Symphony) and Roger Wiesmeyer (San Francisco Symphony, Nashville Symphony); conducting with Dr. Nicole Paiement (UCSC, San Francisco Conservatory of Music) and Maestro Yair Samet (San Jose Youth Symhony); voice with Patrice Maginnis (Opera San Jose); and piano with Mary Jane Cope (MTAC, MTNA Master Teacher). Miss Hancock has held positions as Music Director at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos and the Catholic Community of San Agustín (Scotts Valley, CA). She has served as Artistic Operations Manager for El Camino Youth Symphony and as Student Staff Program Director for the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. In the summer of 2012, she was accepted to attend the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s ”Conducting Opera” masterclass, where she studied under the batons of Maestros Mark Gibson (CCM, Spoleto Festival) and Arthur Fagen (Indiana Jacobs School of Music, Atlanta Opera) and conducted a fully-staged production of Mozart’s comedic opera Così fan tutte with the CCM orchestra. Outside of St. Rita, Miss Hancock maintains a private lesson studio of voice, oboe, and piano students and coaches chamber music for San Jose Youth Symphony. Miss Hancock is new toMarinCounty, having just moved here in July of this year from Santa Cruz. She lives in San Anselmo with her partner, Matt, and their two music-loving cats Nali and Joey.
