"Little House in the Big Woods" 7-night Alaska Stay at a sweet remote cottage

Item Number: 130
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
This sweet little cottage in the big woods is located in Soldotna, Alaska - actually 5.5 miles south of Soldotna going towards Homer on the Sterling highway. If you like fishing, you'll find world-renowned fishing in the Kenai Peninsula. Lodging in this area typically runs $200/night because of the fabulous fish.
It is a 12x12 dry cabin with a fairly nice outhouse. Dry means no water running in the cabin. There are hoses and plenty of space to clean fish if you are into fishing. There is also a freezer for you to store fish until you are ready to fly back.
It has a tiny little toaster oven, a coffee pot and a egg boiler all in one. It has a tiny refrigerator. It sleeps a couple and one extra (on pad on floor) - but a couple would be the most comfortable. 12x12 is small but very sweet. There is internet access and DISH TV.
The outhouse is for "outhousing" and the showers would be on your own (all laundromats have pay showers, the three highs schools have pools plus there are two public pools, and there is a solar shower hanging off the outhouse for hardy folks :).
Soldotna and Kenai are like California's North Coast in a lot of ways. Kenai is the fishing capital of the United States. The sun never sets in the summer and there are many hiking trails and many tours/trips. Plus, Homer and Seward are the most beautiful places on the planet. There is a lovely glacier (Exit Glacier) within two hours of Soldotna and you can hike Exit. If you look up Kenai online, you can see all the amazing things there are to do on Kenai Peninsula.
Travel would need to be to Anchorage, then on Grant Air to Kenai. You can get there by car and by flight - no problems driving right up to the property from Anchorage by car. It is quite a FANTASTIC car trip as well. This auction item is available June 1st through Sept 15th so the winning bidder does not have to deal with snow.
