About the Artist: Melanie Morgan is the daughter of Byrd Alzheimer's Institute CEO Dave Morgan and Byrd Institute researcher Marcia Gordon.  Melanie grew up in Temple Terrace, attending the nearby Pizzo Elementary, Greco Middle and King High Schools, before attending Tulane University.  Melanie has had a lifelong passion for the arts.  By the time she was eight years old, her parents recognized the necessity of building her a personal work bench and a wall of storage cabinets to house her plethora of projects and supplies.  When she is not busy creating new works of art, Melanie also keeps busy with her other “hobby,” working on her Master’s Degree in Urban Planning of Transportation Systems at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
