The island of Berk is home to a tribe courageous Vikings. But the Vikings do not live alone on the island. The territory was taken them over and over again by some aggressive dragon dispute. Only chief's son Hicks and his tame dragon Toothless could mediate between the warring groups and they eventually move to the conclusion of peace. But the alliance is unstable and is repeatedly violated. The imaginative Hicks finally founds the Dragon Academy, where the dragons are to be trained for coexistence with humans. He becomes the first dragon trainer and can thus impress his father chief Haudrauf and his beloved Astrid powerful.
