This item wins four free classes at The Russian School of Mathematics in Wellesley, Newton or Brookline Schools. The Russian School of Mathematics is a renowned after-school enrichment and summer school program for grades K-12.
The RSM philosophy coincides with The Riverbend School because it
- Requires students to think logically and critically,
- Emphasizes derivation over memorization, and
- Prioritizes curriculum continuity and student mastery of concepts over pace.
In Russia, every mathematical formula and rule had to be proven. Students were taught to ask "why?", which develops logic, reasoning and problem-solving skills instead of "how,"? which only develops short-term memory.
