The idea for 3 Steves was born over 3 friends sitting around having a glass of wine and talking about starting our own winery. We all owned part of a small boutique winery where we learned the art, science, and business of the wine industry. We made lots of wine together, and our customers gave us some nice feedback on our wines. Before long we realized we wanted to start our own label from the ground up, and thought it was obvious to name our new project the 3 Steves Winery.
Although we had made wine for years together, we received our license in 2011. Our first year now behind us, we’re proud to still be a viable winery and plan to be here for years to come. Livermore is an incredible wine region. The other wine makers have been so helpful and extended their hands, experience, and resources to us. In this type of wine community you can’t help but make quality wine.
Our philosophy is to buy the best grapes from the regions in addition to Livermore where particular varietals grow best, bring the fruit back to our facility in Livermore, and turn it into wine. We have established strong relationships with award-winning vineyards, which will allow us to obtain excellent fruit as we continue refining our wine making skills as humble students of the art. While you will be the ultimate judges as to the success of our strategy, we’re very proud to have won an award for every one of the wine varietals we made and sold during our first year. Our tag line is “3 Friends Striving To Make The Perfect Wine”, and we’ll continue to do that in hopes more awards are in our future. But more importantly in hopes you really enjoy our wines and perceive value in your purchase of our product.

2008 Livermore Valley Chardonnay
This chardonnay has a rich mouth feel and beautiful color that comes not only from the fruit, but also from aging the wine for over 2 years in both French and American oak. This is a bold wine that works well on its own and stands strong against many foods. A delicious note of butterscotch that will linger long after the last sip.
2008 Livermore Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
A “big” cab with plenty of dark red fruit on the nose and palette. A delicious chocolate overtone yet vanilla is also noticeable, along with some interesting spice that keeps you curious for what you will taste in the next mouthful. A well-balanced wine with strong backbone, drinkable now or capable of being laid down for several years.
