Description

Own a piece of history: a preserved brick from Garner Apartments and a painting depicting these historic tower apartments.

The iconic 14-story Garner Apartments at SFA was demolished in 2009 to make room for the new Freshman Landing residence hall and parking garage.

The Garner tower was the tallest building in Nacogdoches since it was built in 1969. With the demise of the Garner Apartments, an iconic image of SFA's skyline, a long time tradition was lost for awhile: the lighting of the tower's roof to purple after an athletic victory. (The purple lights have since been moved to Steen Towers.)
