This 67x41 cm print on aquarelle paper is taken from the original painting by Swedish artist/singer/songwriter/painter Meja and is a celebration of the feminine strength that lies within us.

From Meja: "When I paint I rarely have a predestined plan. The paintings just become. This one is very dear to me. I remember standing in the studio, feeling stuck, not knowing what to do next. I put on ’Cry Baby’ by Janis Joplin and started singing along like crazy, and during that song she was born, as if she had stepped straight out of a stone wall back in ancient Greece. It was a very strong moment."

Meja is well known in Sweden as a singer/songwriter with international hits such as "All ’bout the Money" and her duet with Ricky Martin, "Private Emotion". She is currently working with producer Ebbot Lundberg, lead singer from The Soundtrack of Our Lives, on her ninth studio album, which is due for release in January 2014.
