Description
Veteran guitarist Sid Nachman will provide three 45 minute guitar lessons at a mutually agreeable location and times.
Sid Nachman is a master Guitarist with a depth of knowledge whose roots in music date back to the teen years when he first heard the Beatles. His education began with an acoustic guitar ( a plastic, Gene Autry Model) and early folk music. Sid's approach and style in electric guitar was deeply influenced during the late 60's/early 70's from the opportunities he had to experience live some of the world's guitar "masters:" Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Jeff Beck, Jerry Garcia, John Cippolina, Jorma Kaukonen and Neil Young. In high school, Sid studied Jazz Guitar, Saxophone and Stand-up Bass, all the while playing by ear as he never really had the patience to read the notes! Later on, his efforts to expand the dimensions of his talent and capability led Sid to learn Jazz and gain proficiency of Chords, Scales and Triads and reading song charts. As a fan of Acoustic Guitar fingerpicking, slide, and bluegrass styles of guitar playing, Sid would often emulate Doc Watson, John Renbourn, Leo Kottke and John Fahey and continues to be a devotee of great guitarists from Segovia to Django Reinhardt to Santana. His professional experience includes studio guitarist for sessions with bands in the 1970's, composing the music and playing guitar on the theme song for in the award-winning short film, "Voicemail", and composing a catalogue of recordings of over 50 original songs over the past 30 years. Today Sid lives in Stamford CT and feeds his love of guitar as a member of the classic rock group "The Bagles" ---who have been in continuous existence since 1993 to the present.
