The Fierce Five is the artistic gymnastics team that won the second ever Olympic gold medal for the United States in the women's team competition. The women were all featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated's preview issue before the 2012 summer games; it was the first time since 1996 that a gymnast had appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
