With the idea of memory and relfection I am exploring the idea of memory; what creates them, reflections about and relationships to them. Through the landscape of dream or dialogue with the past, memories may be layered with illusion. Upon reflection they illuminate and perhaps alter the meaning of an original experience, perhaps offering an alternate truth. Experiences may feel different through the lens of remembrance.

This work has been inspired by a number of ideas and images, The Matrix, Inception, concrete, rust, oral and written culture – their overlap and intersection. The nature of reality, how memory is perceived, retained and its story potentially passed on.

Working through abstraction, this work echoes remembered stories. It plays with them whether accurate, embellished or imagined while hanging onto a collective understanding.
