Description

You are bidding on a raw Wensleydale/Cormo sheep fleece. Donated by Larkin Morgan.

This is an exceptional spinning and crafting wool.  Cormo makes your yarn next-to-skin soft and the Wensleydale gives it strength and luster.  This wool felts easily and the long curly locks make great doll hair.

What will a pound of raw wool make?  Some weight will be lost once you wash most of the lanolin out of the fleece, but a conservative estimate for a medium spun yarn:  3 sets of hats and mittens/wrist warmers, a large scarf or medium shawl, a medium child's sweater . . . or leave it un-spun and you will have enough beards and hair to adorn a whole village of forest gnomes!

This fleece was grown under a cover and contains very little vegetable matter.  It washes to a lovely color.
