Rated 91 by Parker. Raised up on a 125 acres plot of graves, which used to belong to Château Beychevelle, Château Branaire Ducru has become one of the Saint-Julien jewel wines. Researched vintage for its very pure red fruit (obtained with a machine who press very gently the grapes) it offers in 2001 density, richness and power. The typical blend of Cabernet sauvignon (70%), Merlot (22%), Cabernet franc (5%) and Petit verdot (3%) refines after on complex aromas of raspberry, mineral, black lead, smoke and flowers.
