Dizzy Gillespie was a key figure to establishing the outlines of Be-Bop; an individual and disorganzied musical experimentation that came about as an effort to discourage undesireable "sitters in" on after hours jazz sessions in the forties. Complex variations on chords evolved into a revolution that changed the sound of jazz.
