Inspired by an artist's painting of a lush tropical landscape, the twenty-four students in Mrs. Thomass classroom each learned about mixing colors and then painted one 5" x 5" canvas square using acrylic paint. All of the painted canvases were then assembled together like a puzzle to form one collaborative 20" x 30" painting of a colorful landscape. The painting, which the students have decided to call "Waterfall Valley Puzzle Painting," includes fluffy white clouds, trees, lush green hills, colorful vegetation, and a blue river. The collective result is a beautiful, vibrant display of color and creativity that would look wonderful on any wall. As a special bonus, the painting comes accompanied by one copy of a hardcover, professionally-printed coffee table book titled, About the Artists. The book includes gorgeous self-portraits and lovable artists' statements from each of the Room 4 artists, including each student's thoughts about what she or he wants to be when grown up.
