The Miceli family’s friendly, hip and earth-conscious cafes and bakery are a regular hang-out for many New Amsterdam families.  Open early for breakfast and through the day for lunch and dinner (Thur - Sat) too, Ciao for Now is perfect any time of day - relaxed and low key, with great coffee and delicious food in both their East Village and West Village locations.

Established 10 years ago in the East Village, Ciao for Now’s menus are are made fresh daily from all kinds of adjectives: house-made, home-baked, free-range, grass-fed, hormone-free, nitrate-free, organic and local. They use quadruple-filtered water for all cooking, baking, and brewed beverages - including cold-brewed iced coffee.

They are dedicated to their neighbourhoods both East and Westside and compost all food waste and use an electric ZAP car for deliveries because, as they say, community consciousness helps everybody.
