Tour of Dandelion Chocolate Factory for 6

Item Number: 286
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Dandelion Chocolate opened its factory doors at 18th and Valencia just last year, a welcome addition to the neighborhood to be sure. Now, you will get a chance to tour the brand new factory with the founder and owner, Todd Masonis, right in the heart of the Mission district. Todd will take you step by step, through the fascinating process of how bean-to-bar chocolate is made & what that means in the first place. The tour will take about 30 minutes and include information about each step in the chocolate making process, complete with hands on demonstrations and -- best of all -- TASTINGS at every turn (or is that churn?). What could be cooler than seeing this fascinating and delicious process in action!?
Special Instructions
Contact Todd to set up date and time for tour; kids are welcome.
- Dandelion is one of the few small-batch bean-to-bar chocolate makers in America. We source cocoa beans directly and make finished chocolate from the bean, rather than molding and working with already finished chocolate.
- Our current line-up consists of three single-origin, 70% cacao, bars that contain only two ingredients: cocoa beans and cane sugar. Our bars are made with techniques and machines that were popular a hundred years ago, before chocolate production was industrialized.
