Description

In this unforgettable experience you and your family will have the chance to tour International Bird Rescue’s San Francisco Bay center, where you'll meet your Brown Pelican as it gets ready for its release.


See your pelican get its final medical exam and numbered leg band. Then travel with a either Synergy parents, Russ Curtis or Mark Russell to the release site at Fort Baker near the Golden Gate Bridge. There you will open the door to your pelican's cage. You'll watch as this amazing animal takes its first steps back into the wild and soars away.


 


International Bird Rescue is a worldwide leader in the care and rehabilitation of seabirds and other aquatic birds. It operates two full-time bird rescue centers in California and another response center in Alaska. During its 43 year history it has worked on 200+ oil spills in 12 different countries. Most recently it helped co-manage the care of oiled birds in 5 states at the Gulf Oil Spill in 2010.
