Description

An anthology of writings from a creative writing class at San Quentin Prison. The range of subject matter here is as wide as the imagination.

Over the past 10 years, Zoe Mullery's creative writing class at San Quentin State Prison has produced a number of anthologies of fiction and memoir. Some stories are fiction, some memoir/creative non-fiction, and some a combination. You'll find stories about rattlesnakes, Black Power, post-apocalyptic communities, prison boxing matches, one-day courtships, painful childhoods, transformation in the hood, the Lost Boys of Sudan, explorations into the source and nature of violence, dancing bears, and crucifixion, to name a very few.
