One of a series of illuminated porcelain ornaments produced by the Danbury Mint. Bottom of ornament has insert to push in miniature tree light so ornament emits lovely glow through piercings distributed throughout the entire ornament.  Beautifully detailed scene on front depicts Mary and Joseph being turned away by the innkeeper. Back of ornament contains verse Luke 2:7 in gold lettering:  “And she brought forth her firstborn son..and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Measures 3” wide by 3.75" high x 1.25" thick.
