Located right across the street from Grace Cathedral, Osso Steakhouse is the new project from the folks behind San Francisco's popular Franciscan Crab Restaurant and The Stinking Rose. The striking art deco-influenced dining room features black and white zigzag floors, tented booths and leather banquettes -- all in period style. Osso is Italian for "bone", and executive chef J.C. Becerra specializes in bone-in, dry-aged steaks of all cuts, from filet mignon to super sized porterhouse. Feast on the New York steak, which is dry-aged from four to six weeks; the three-inch thick, perfectly marbled bone-in Empire steak building cut; or, for a taste of the Bay, Dungeness crab served in garlic sauce. 

In 2013, the Zagat guide wrote, "This Nob Hill newcomer is taking it back - way back. A chic color palette of black, white, green and wood tones transports diners to the Art Deco era. It provides a slice of retro elegance that is sorely missing in San Francisco."
