Stephen Strasburg was selected by the Washington Nationals with the first pick in the 2009 MLB Draft.  He was called "the most-hyped pick in draft history" by ESPN and was considered the greatest pitching prospect in baseball history.  He exceeded all expectations when he made his major league debut on June 8, 2010 by producing a franchise-record 14 strikeouts in seven innings.
