Description
Are
you ready to escape to one of the few homes in the US situated at 11,000+ feet
for five (5) scenic days and four (4) magical nights? The Observatory is a private and most
certainly unique backcountry cabin located 13 miles from Telluride, CO. The
Observatory, with its own private lake, is nestled underneath the 13,000 foot
Palmyra and Silver Peaks of the San Juan Mountains.
The Observatory provides a glimpse into the
culture of Telluride. Locals built The Observatory over a three-year
period in the 1970s (after they sketched it out on a napkin at the Sheridan
Bar). Since then, it has developed into an icon for locals and visitors
alike. It picked up the nickname “The Observatory” at some point along
the way because the view is downright breathtaking! Once you see the sky on a
clear night you will get it. You will understand. You will have
experienced The Observatory.
Special Instructions
Details: Home sleeps 6 adults or 1 family. The Observatory is only available in June
(excluding June 22 – 29, 2014) and August.
Date must be mutually agreed upon.
