Own a piece of Page School history!
Here is the story of this tea cup as told by Mary Eames Ucci, Former Director of the Child Study Center: "The history is that when I first came to the CSC in 1976, there was a collection of china dinnerware in the cupboards in the conference room. The collection included dinner plates, serving pieces, and the famous ceramic white pitchers that I used with the four-year old classroom for years. The Interim Director at that time decided the space was needed for other purposes, like storage of research materials. The "college" was asked what to do with the china and we were told to just get rid of it."
Members of the CSC teaching team took these items home based on what everyone agreed was fair.
Since that time, these tea cups have been given to several CSC staff members to celebrate their retirement including Former Director Marian Blum, and Former Lead Teachers Sally Turk and Mary Ruth Negro.
There are only a few tea cups left.
The markings on the bottom of the pieces say some version of "Wood's England." This saucer says, "Wood's & Sons Burslem England" (in gold with a crown) while the bottom of this cup reads, "Wood's England" (in blue).
