Description

The Kreeger Museum is a private, non-profit art museum located in the former residence of David and Carmen Kreeger, set within five and a half acres of sculpture-filled gardens and tranquil woods. Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson, it is among the few examples of his work in DC. The Kreeger's focus on 19th and 20th century paintings can be seen through works by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Czanne, Chagall, Mir, and Stella, along with prominent Washington artists. Also included in the collection are outstanding examples of traditional African and Asian art.

Special Instructions

Use tickets for:
Ninety minute docent-led tours given Tuesday through Thursday at 10:30 and 1:30.Tours take about one and a half hours and are booked up to 45 visitors. Reservations are required for all guided tours on these days.  The museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays deom 10:00 am to 4 pm, for which reservations are not required.  During ridays and Saturdays, optional guided tours are given throughout the day, and guests have the option of joining the tour or viewing the museumon their own.  The museum is closed Sundays and Mondays, and during hte month of August.  There is parking available to our visitors on the grounds of the museum.
