Description

Warm Hearth is a place where the residents can feel comfortable, and where they have learned to live.  Many came from large orphanages with hundreds of children, and when they arrived at Warm Hearth, staff say, they had to be taught the basics of living, from hygiene to personal property.

Special Instructions

LARISA KATSANOVA, age 44, is a photographer and curator who has helped establish the Harutyunyan Galentz museum in his home in Yerevan, Armenia. She says this photography project goes well with the memory of Galentz, who was himself an orphan from the Armenian genocide, and who grew up in an orphanage. She and her husband, Galent’s son, Saro, also a painter, are continuing to work with residents at Warm Hearth.
