Review: "The 1661 & Hotel Manisses are both excellent choices for lodging and meals if you're planning a trip to Block Island. The breakfasts alone would be a good enough reason to stay here. The service is excellent and the location is perfect."

"The merchandise at The Glass Onion is eclectic to say the least. Different items and curiosities from around the world and from local Rhode Island artists and craft people. The inventory is always changing and every time you visit it is a new experience with cool clothes, shoes, jewelry, rugs, books, bags, soaps, baskets and strange and unique art all stuffed into the tiny edifice.
The Glass Onion is definitely a store that marches to a different drummer. No attempt at luring people inside with pretty signs or slogans and just getting into the store can be a challenge at times. But once inside a unique adventure awaits. The Glass Onion is just a shack, but a very, very cool shack."

The Pub Hobo was born in 1974 during a deep, nation-wide recession. The founders of the Poor People’s Pub New Hampshire were unemployed contractors looking for a way to get off of unemployment and create a place to hang out in the small, sleepy village of Sanbornville.
After coming up with the Pub’s name, based on their economic circumstances, the poor people (Jimbo and Becky – the original owners), wanted a logo that would represent who and what they were; a hobo it was!
Since 1974, the Hobo has been on every t-shirt, has made many personal appearances, and brought smiles to many events at the Pub. He continues to be the life of any party.
All these years later, with great pride, Block Island can enjoy the same good times and tasty Pub grub!
