He founded Stephen Phillips Architects (SPARCHS) after working for renowned lead California architects Charles Moore (MRY), William Turnbull (WTA/TGH) and Cathy Simon (SMWM) on many award winning high-end residential, cultural, and institutional building types. Stephen Phillips is a Yale/Penn/Princeton graduate with both a professional degree in architecture and a Ph.D. in modern and contemporary architecture history. He is a devoted Franklin School parent, with completed residential, educational, winery, and restaurant designs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and New York City.
