Description
This is one of the highest rated Kistler wines. Kistler is a cult vineyard, and a favorite among enophiles. Their wines hardly ever make it to the market because of the small production and the fact that the collectors all wait years to get high enough on the direct purchase list.
Donated by the original owner wine was carefully cellared since direct delivery from Kistler.
96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sweet black raspberries, camphor, and forest floor notes intermixed with a cocktail of spring flowers all jump from the glass of this full-bodied, gorgeously proportioned, rich wine that is about as compelling as California Pinot Noir is capable of being. It has a Burgundy-like structure, but its great purity of fruit and dazzling texture and length are awesome".
