Who could describe this restaurant better than Serious Eats Chicago?  Here's what they had to say:

I'll get this out of the way at the beginning: Stephanie Izard's second restaurant, Little Goat, is an actual diner. It's not diner-esque or reminiscent of the idea of a diner some marketing person dreamt up, but an honest-to-goodness diner with breakfast all day, milkshakes, and 75-odd other things on its massive menu. The space even feels like one, albeit with some serious style, and an enormous skylight in the middle, bathing the space in natural light instead of the usual fluorescent glow.

The wealth of options, plus the choice to get breakfast all day, was always part of the plan. "If you're going to be a real diner," Izard told us during a phoneinterview, "that's just what you have to do." Of course, most places don't make every single one of those dishes from scratch with the exacting attention that Izard showcase at Girl & The Goat(which is located just across the street).

Whereas her first restaurant presented ingredients in unexpected and exciting ways, much of the food at Little Goat looks familiar, though it is often twisted in new directions. We were lucky enough to get a sampling of some—but definitely not all—of the offerings. That included favorites like a tuna melt, a chocolate malt shake, and apple pie a la mode. But Izard is also drawing inspiration from other cuisines, which explains the fish tostadas, trout with almonds, and something called an Asian Breakfast Tasty Thing.
