Mr. Nettles' 1st grade class learned about the amazing artist Henri Matisse. They talked about his life, art, and his self described technique of 'painting with scissors'.

The students had fun trying this technique of paper cutting to create a collage of their own. Then as a group, the students replicated Matisse's famous painting 'Snow Flowers' and applied their flowers onto a large vase.

The result is colorful, whimsical and unique. A true Matisse inspired Masterpiece this is 19.5 x 6 inches!
