Alexander Technique Lesson

Description
The Alexander Technique is a valuable tool for anyone, but especially for those in the performing arts or those dealing with any type of chronic pain. It is a process of reeducation where we learn to use the appropriate amount of tension when performing a task, whether it be walking, running, playing an instrument, brushing your teeth, sitting at the computer, etc. Most people have patterns of excess tension which cause fatigue and sometimes pain. Becoming aware of our habitual patterns of use, as well as the thought processes that have created them, gives us the opportunity to make changes in our basic functioning. An Alexander teacher guides a student through these changes in a direction that will lead them to overall greater ease and more energy.
