animas Plural of an-i-ma (Noun). Soul or spirit, it refers to our creative self, our life force.

Our dream was to create a space that inspires the community to move and be healthy. We hope we have captured that here at Animas. Integrating dance, yoga, Pilates, and wellness; we encourage students to press their edge and accomplish their goals. Animas is located in the north central or Catalina Foothills area of Tucson. We are found in the River Center shopping center.

Group Fitness Classes













Aerobic Dance


























The perfect combination of dance and aerobics, Zumba is a fun fitness alternative for those looking for a great workout, no matter their dance experience.
Dance for fun and fitness to current music.
An upbeat class with a style that is strong in Hip Hop with a cardio edge; but can be infused with other styles like: Old school & New School Hip Hop, House, Jazz, Latin, Dancehall Reggae & more!
 
Flamenco dance (baile) is a highly-expressive, Spanish dance form. The flamenco is characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm and body movements.












Yoga






























Yoga poses utilizing visualizations and affirmations. Poses are held for strength and mindfulness.
An energetic yoga class intended to get your heart pumping while strengthening your body.
A less intense class for those with joint discomfort.
Emphasizes the joy in yoga, with attention to proper alignment, purposefully working to achieve ease in each pose.
The greatest powers of rejuvenation reside in learning to completely and utterly relax. The difficulty lies in getting the body and mind to cooperate in reaching that natural stillness. Yoga nidra is 45 minutes of guided meditation (you are supine on the floor) that relaxes every inch of the body and mind.
VyaVinyasa is a breath-based flow practice that is unique in the world of yoga. The practice is both physically and mentally intense. You'll sweat (but not like a pig), build overall body strength, coordination, balance, concentration and flexibility that will revolutionize the way you move in the world, and leave class with more energy than you came in with.












Fitness/Stretch


















Gentle muscle release techniques coupled with gentle Pilates to improve posture, range of motion, and strength.
A very gentle class to begin lengthening your muscles and relaxing your mind.

Floor exercises designed to strengthen your core and stretch your spine.

You have 2 months to use your 4 group classes after the first group class is taken. Certificate expires 11/6/2014.
