RED HARKINS
The history of Harkins Theatres began with an adventurous 16-year-old named Dwight "Red" Harkins. In 1931, he rode out of his hometown of Cincinnati on a Harley Davidson determined to seek his fortune in Hollywood.
CINE CAPRI®
Making its debut April 1, 1966, with the Charlton Heston film The Agony and the Ecstasy, the original Cine Capri was an instant hit with Phoenix moviegoers. From the signature white columns to the majestic gold waterfall curtains.

Since the 1930's, Harkins Theatres has received national and local recognition for industry leadership and community involvement. We're grateful for the numerous honors that celebrate our dual mission to be a good neighbor that brings you great entertainment value.
DAN HARKINS
He was conceived in a studio apartment attached to the projection booth of a movie theatre, raised in a movie theatre and eventually married in a movie theatre. Along the way, he worked every job in the theatre.
VALLEY ART®
Built in 1940, the Valley Art (originally named the College Theatre) is Arizona's oldest and longest operating movie theatre. Designed and constructed by Red Harkins at the age of 25, the Valley Art was full of fantastic new.
