Description

Pricked is a visually arresting repertory program with two American premieres and the return of Harald Lander's Études.

The diverse program highlights Boston Ballet's versatility, features Petr Zuska's moving and passionate D.M.J 1953-1977Alexander Ekman's audacious Cacti, and Lander's highly visual homage to classical technique, Études.

D.M.J. 1953-1977

An American and Company debut, D.M.J. 1953-1977 is a poignant work exploring themes of love, loss, and longing -  featuring the music of noted Czech composers Antonin Dvo??ák, Bohuslav Martin??, and Leos JanáA?ek.

Cacti

Also making its American and Company debut is Cacti, a compelling work focusing on the interplay of dancers, set, and music. Cacti features a trio of violinists and a cellist on stage, moving set pieces, and dynamic, often witty, movement.

Études

One of Lander's most well-known works,  Études is set to a series of piano studies by Carl Czerny, and illustrates a spectacular dance class that begins with traditional barre exercises and ends with a breathtaking finale.
