Together we will explore the creative process as we experiment with a variety of art materials using our imagination, memory and observation skills. We will be painting, mixing colors, making journals, printmaking & drawing with shadows and light. There will be stories to share, poems to write and music to guide us. The world of art will open to us through the works of other artists, different cultures and nature! Summer Camp is designed for groups of six artists. We had so much fun last year - creating amazing art and making new friends.

Mary Goggin is an Art Educator with 20+ years teaching art in the Hudson Valley. She has NYS Permanent Certification with a Master of Science in Art Ed from SUNY New Paltz. She has taught in many different settings - both public and private K-12; Orange/Ulster BOCES; after school TOPS program in Kingston, NY; DV, teen and homeless shelters in Orange and Ulster County; & summer art programs with Family of Woodstock.

Mary's Philosophy: Every child is a natural artist with a rich and powerful imagination. My job is to offer an environment that nutures and enhances the innate, creative spirit in each of us. I intend to accomplish this with projects that encourage feeling and looking deeply; becoming familiar with a variety of art materials; introducing stories and works of art from different cultures; instruction for the development of strong fundamental art skills; and always encouraging creative decision making. I am also more than happy to collaborate with parents of homeschoolers on particular topics of study. I'm looking forward to all the beautiful art we will create this year. I hope you will join us!
