Robert Hanson has been performing the classical guitar for over a decade. He is an active performer throughout the East Coast. He is also a wonderful classical guitar teacher and privately teaches several children, as well as adults, in the DC area. Robert will come to your home for 2 private guitar lessons, 30-minutes each. BIO:


Robert Hanson has been performing and studying the classical guitar for over a decade. Currently he is a Masters of Music student at the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Maestro Eliot Fisk. He recently graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he studied under the guidance of Julian Gray. 

He has performed for and studied with Sharon Isbin of the Juilliard School while at the Aspen Music Festival and School, which he attended on scholarship. At the Aspen Festival he performed on two recitals as a soloist and chamber musician. 

He has also performed in master classes with Eliot Fisk of the New England Conservatory, Benjamin Verdery of the Yale School of Music, Eduardo Fernandez, international concert artist and Lukasz Kuropaczewski of the University of Pennsylvania. He has also studied extensively with Franco Platino of the Levine School of Music. 

Robert is an active performer throughout the east coast. He has appeared in a variety of venues including the Ellington Theater as a concerto soloist, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts for a private recital, the Tudor Place, the Georgetown, and the historic Georgetown jazz club, Blues Alley. 

Robert is also an active educator. After graduating from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 2004, he was asked to return and teach the following year. During his second year at Peabody Institute, he began teaching at the Community College of Baltimore County. Currently, he is on faculty at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in Washington, DC.
