The style of contemporary American cuisine we put on the table daily at Wishbone is steeped in the home-cooked table fare of North Carolina mixed with a dash of Creole spice. We call it Southern Reconstruction cooking.

It's Southern food like we grew up with, like we know and love. Some might consider it plain and simple, but take your first bite and the deep flavors and spice-happy aspects come running at your palate full tilt! However, it's been influenced by cooking styles and techniques from France to NYC and Chicago.

Our intention here is to concentrate on fresh ingredients, hands-on, from-scratch preparation with inspiration coming from the flavors, influences and culinary traditions of the Southern United States. There are lots of choices on our menu--something for everyone. An attention to the quality of every item on our fairly epic menus has gained us the trust of our customers, especially mixed with friendly service and reasonable prices. Our friends and customers represent a fairly breathtaking cross-section of the city of Chicago. Old friends meet here and new ones are made about as often as our biscuits.
