From New York Magazine: After five years of planning and a build-out that was offset significantly by Hurricane Sandy, proprietor Erin Norris's twenty-seat Grindhaus, in Red Hook finally opened. Co-chefs Leon Douglas and Aaron Taber, who was most recently at the Pines, serve a continuously evolving menu of hearty food like merguez tortellini and braised pork cheeks. There are also plans for a wood-burning oven for the backyard, which will give the chefs the chance to launch their ambitious-looking in-house bread program.
