Between 1997 and 2011, food allergies among children in the US increased by 50%. That makes it increasingly likely that you or someone you know will have to deal with a child with food allergies. It can be a major disruption in one’s life as an adult, but it is particularly hard on young children who aren’t able to fully understand or explain what sort of foods they have severe allergies to. That’s why I founded A-Wear Designs and started making shirts that would say the message for them while still being cute enough for a kid to wear. A food allergy reaction sends someone to the Emergency Room approximately once every three minutes. We hope that our shirts will help keep children from becoming a greater part of that number.
