The Blue Jay children are so excited to know that they can make a difference in another child’s life, and help to better our school.

This “Peace Lamp” derived from our Dr. Martin Luther King Jr lesson, followed by our lesson on Peace. We read the story, “We Can Get Along” by Lauren Payne and had a class discussion on what Peace is. The children felt that being peaceful makes us all feel happy and there are lots of ways we can be peacemakers.

Our Blue Jays then worked together to make this beautiful Peace Lamp for the school Gala. They understood that other children, future VPC students, were going to be blessed by their teamwork.
