Seven prominent African-American photographers were also charged to revisit the landscapes depicted in the historic pictures to photograph the contemporary landscapes of front yards, street corners, storefronts, railway stations, pool halls, factories, churches and parks now occupying these sites that portray a multi-generational tapestry of experience.
