Raven is auctioning off the opportunity to play the role of a policeman/ policewoman in its upcoming production "Vieux Carre". The walk on role will be for one performance only and must take place between May 23 and June 28 -excluding the week-end of June 5, 6, 7 & 8. 

Vieux Carre is the story of a nameless, newly-transplanted, innocent — an aspiring writer who is struggling with his literary career, poverty, and homosexuality who survives alongside other starving and ailing tenants of a rooming house in 1930's New Orleans. This auto-biographical tragicomedy is filled to the brim with sexuality, desperation and loneliness as well as Williams’ unique brand of poetry. 

The winning bidder will be required to memorize a few lines for the wild standoff scene at the end of Act One.

In 2002, Raven moved into its permanent home - a 200-seat, state-of the art-facility in Chicago’s Edgewater community. Today, Raven boasts an ensemble of nineteen Chicago-based artists and proudly presents a full season of programming each year which includes: four major theatrical productions; a new plays workshop series; and The Evermore! Series celebrating Chicago’s brightest emerging artists.
