Description

I loved this book when I was little and my children loved this book when they were little. Who doesn't remember putting their little fingers through the holes in the book and following caterpiller as he at himself silly?!

By bidding on this item, you can take your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, any little person you know to the Chicago Children’s Theatre presentation of the internationally acclaimed Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s production of popular children’s author Eric Carle’s most treasured stories. Featuring evocative music, innovative puppetry, and stunning “how did they do that?” black light visual effects, this tripleâÂÂÂÂÂA?ÂÂÂÂÂA?bill brings to life three of Carle’s all-time family favorites.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar follows the adventures of a very tiny and very hungry caterpillar that eats his way through an amazing variety of foods towards his eventual metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly. Children will likewise delight in the antics of Little Cloud. High up in a beautiful sky, Little Cloud slips away from the rest and transforms itself into various shapes of things it sees – a sheep, and airplane, a shark and more.  In The Mixed-Up Chameleon, a little chameleon is bored with its life – sitting about predictably changing color all day. So it decides to embark on an adventurous trip to the zoo. Upon seeing the beautiful animals there, the little chameleon tries changing to look like each one of them.

The show runs from April 25 to June 1, 2014 at the Ruth Page Center for Performing Arts in Chicago.
For ages 2+

The run time is approximately 50 minutes with no intermission.

ABOUT: Chicago Children’s Theatre has evolved as both a professional and personal response to the lack of a Chicago company dedicated exclusively to providing high-quality, professional year-round children’s programming. Since its founding, Chicago Children’s Theatre has rigorously pursued its mission to enrich our communities through diverse, educational, and significant theatrical programming that engages and inspires the child in all of us.

After the success of its launch production of A Year With Frog and Toad in January 2006 at Goodman Theatre, Chicago Children’s Theatre continues to provide Chicago children and families with the highest level professional theatre programming. There has been tremendous critical and popular support of Chicago Children’s Theatre and its audience continues to grow. In just over six years since the theatre’s inception in 2005, more than 180,000 youth and families have attended its productions.
