"The round trip excursion, originating from Downtown Cumberland, Maryland, is an exciting mix of mountain scenery and rich transportation history. It’s an entertaining and educational experience for riders of all ages and interests."
Scenic excursions depart at 11:30 AM from the Western Maryland Station in Cumberland, Maryland. The train returns to the Station at approximately 3:00 PM. There will be a 1 1/2 hour layover in Frostburg where you may enjoy lunch, watch the engine turned on a turntable, explore the shops and restaurants on Frostburg's Main Street and visit the Thrasher Carriage Museum which is free to guests of the railroad (just present your train ticket). To reach Main Street in Frostburg, guests will be required to climb a steep staircase with 88 steps or a steep sidewalk which is a little longer but easier then the steps!
Special Instructions
Certificate entitles you to ride one of the regularly scheduled standard scenic excursions. Not valid in the month of October.
