The Allentown Art Museum has undergone an expansion and modernization project and re-opened to the public in October 2011. The newly expanded 48,900 sq. ft. facility showcases a growing collection of nearly 14,000 works of art of international importance including the Kress Collection of European Renaissance and Baroque art. The collections allow visitors to experience a broad spectrum of art representing diverse media, materials, and techniques from an equally diverse range of countries and cultures.
In January, Paul Harryn: Essence of Nature will fill our walls. Paul is a contemporary artist living and working outside Easton. This exclusive exhibition features more than 100 of Harryn's recent works of art in a feast of color, form, and texture. Visitors will encounter small paintings from the artist's Changing Seasons series complimented by monolithic paintings from the series Pacificus and Three Secret Poems. Accompanied by recent drawings, sculpture, video installations, and original musical compositions, this is the most extensive exhibition of Harryn's work in recent years.
