Matt Schlatter likes to help musicians ages 6 - 75--beginning rockers, intermediate folkies and advanced jazzers--sharpen their guitar picking and piano playing. Need a better recommendation: Ask Maya, in the 6s. She started piano with Matt last year.
Good for six, 45-minute, private youth lessons (or 4 hrs adult instruction) at Matt Schlatter Music Studio in Park Slope.
Special Instructions
Matt Schlatter, holds an MFA from The University of the Arts and has worked as a gigging musician and composer for more than 10 years. He has played with The Tonalites and Live Theory Philly’s premier venues: The North Star Bar, The Fire, The Millcreek Tavern and others and with Philadelphia Jazz musicians at Chris’ Jazz cafe and the Pyramid Club. He has composed incidental music for theater productions: The Importance of Being Earnest (2007) and Naked Will (2008) at the Walnut Street Theatre's Studio 5, and premiered his own jazz suite for quartet, The Either, in 2006. Matt is a co-founder of Aspire Arts, a Philadelphia non-profit that creates professional opportunities for early career artists. He teaches private piano and guitar in Brooklyn.
