Hopsters is a place to enjoy local craft beer on tap and delicious flat breads, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. They also have brewing sessions where you choose what to brew and brew your own handcrafted beers from scratch to take home.
The winner of this item will win a gift certificate to brew three cases of their own handcrafted beers with their own custom labels!
Hopsters has been featured on Chronicle, in the Globe and in many other press outlets. It was recently voted one of the 21 Coolest Small Businesses in Boston by Boston Insider.
Hopsters Brew & Boards is the vision of Newton husband-and-wife (and craft beer-lovers) Lee and Karen Cooper, coming to life.
Growing up in Liverpool, England, Lee was no stranger to good beer. When he came to the US in 1996, he missed the cask ales and other beer varieties he’d known and loved in the UK. Eventually, he began brewing his own beer at home, and before long, he’d gone from novice to passionate craft beer aficionado.
Leaving his career in corporate learning & development behind, Lee decided to make the leap and create the kind of craft beer “space” he’d been looking for — a community brewery that brings people together to experiment and create unique craft beers, and learn more about brewing beer in general. And most importantly, enjoy yourself in the process!
Hopsters is located in Newton Corner.

All winning bidders will be charged a transaction fee of 5% of their bid to cover a portion of the 9% auction transaction fees that are charged to Franklin by BiddingforGood. We thank you for helping with this and supporting the school.
Checks preferred for payment. Checks to be made out to FRANKLIN PTO. Credit Cards (visa, mc) accepted, instructions for using credit cards will be in winner’s email.
Do pickup (below) or Mail Checks to: JULIET HARRISON, FRANKLIN PTO, 160 RANDLETT PARK, WEST NEWTON, MA 02465. We will mail items upon receipt of payment.
If You Wish To Pickup: We will be at the top of the stairs INSIDE Franklin Elementary on Wednesdays (March 19, March 26 and April 2) from 8:20-8:40a.m. to distribute winner’s items and collect payment. We are happy to make alternate pick up/collection arrangements as necessary, just email us to arrange.
