Head Lice creates a huge stress for School Nurses and Moms due to the confusion about effective treatment required for eradication. NitWits: was Founded in 2004 by School Nurse Berit Pratt RN BSN MPH to help School Nurses and Families better manage head lice in their communities. We invented the terms "MLS" (or "Mom Lice Stress") and "NLS" (or "Nurse Lice Stress"). Head Lice are misunderstood, harmless human parasites and there is still a very strong social stigma associated with Head Lice in the USA. This adds to both "Mom Lice Stress" and "Nurse Lice Stress".
